WhatsApp has been discussing its new privacy policy for months. As a result, other messaging platforms are offering their apps. Google has introduced the Google Chat app for Android and iOS users. Until now, only Google Workspace users were using it, but now Google has launched it for all Gmail users.

The Google Chat app has been integrated into the Gmail application and is now part of its ecosystem with features like Room, Gmail, Meet. So far only Google Workspace users

What is Google Chat App?


Basically, Google chat app is a replacement of  hangout app which provides direct message and team chat room facility like Microsoft Team and Slack. Hangout chat app was originally allowed to use Google workspace customers only.

iPhone and iPad users can easily use this chat app feature from the Gmail application. It also includes meats, rooms, and mail. Therefore, Today Google has launched this chat feature fro Android users too. They can use this feature by following the below mentioned steps. 

How to use Google Chat App


The Chat app replaces the previous Hangouts app. If you're considering using the chat platform on your Gmail app on the Apple iPhone or iPad, you need to follow these simple steps:

  1. First of all, you need to check if you are using the latest version of the Gmail app. If you are using an older version via Google Play Store or Store Play Store, you need to update the app.
  2. Go to the updated Gmail app and click on the sandwich menu on the left side of the screen.
  3. Now. Now you need to visit the settings and go to your personal Google Account.
  4. Select the Chat (early access) option to enable messaging platforms on your Gmail app.

Earlier Google has allowed its Workspace users only to take advantage of the chat app. However, the Google has now rolled out the app for all Gmail users, including iOS and Android smartphone users. Google Workspace Tech Giant has a B2B offer.

If you have an iPhone and an iPad, you will be able to use the chat app at the bottom of the Gmail interface, along with the newly launched messaging app, which also includes Mail, Meet and Rooms. For Android, Google has not yet launched a chat platform in the Gmail app. But the company may soon bring an Android version.
