Top 10 WhatsApp Tricks And Tips You Should Know The Will Be Useful

What Are Some Cool WhatsApp Tricks?

WhatsApp Tricks And Tips - WhatsApp is the most popular instant messaging app in the world and for good reason - it gets a steady stream of updates, has a long list of features, and supports many types of devices. No wonder it's hitting the billion user icon. Want to get the most out of the WhatsApp Application? We have some WhatsApp tricks and tips that you can use.

How to create bold, italic, or strikethrough text

It’s been a while now, but you would be surprised how many people don’t know about this clean WhatsApp trick text.

Place an asterisk (*) at the beginning and end of the word or sentence and you can easily highlight it. So if you want to highlight the word biscuit, you need to type * biscuit *. It is only for italics, with underscores (_) on both sides of the desired text instead. To strike by text, you need to add a tilde (~) at the beginning and end of the desired path. There is also the option to create monospace text by adding three critical accents (`) to either side of the text.

Want an easy way to do all this? Then highlight the word or excerpt in question, tap More and choose from Bold, Italicize, Strikethrough, or Monospace. It doesn't work on all devices though, so you might have to wait a long time.

Tag a Message in Your Response

Whether the speed of sending your text is too fast or new messages are constantly appearing in group chats, one of the best tips for managing references is to quote WhatsApp.

To cite someone, just swipe to the desired message and it will appear at the top of the text field. This will attach your response to the tagged text (or picture) for all to see. You can do this by holding the message and tapping the arrow on the left.

Stop Auto-downloading Via Mobile Data

One of our favorite WhatsApp tricks can help you save some valuable mobile data.

There are still some ways to save data on WhatsApp when receiving notifications and messages. First of all, disable the application's ability to download media to mobile data. This is done through Settings> Data & Storage Usage> when using mobile data.

From this section, you can check or uncheck the download of photos, audio, video, and documents via mobile data. This way, you need to tap to download the file. Videos, in particular, are huge data hogs, so we recommend not checking them out.

Does WhatsApp call chewing data? Give it a try

WhatsApp calls on the platform are a handy feature, but if you are a heavy user or have a limited plan, they can use a lot of mobile data. Thankfully we know more WhatsApp tricks to improve data usage. If you want to save some bandwidth, visit Settings> Data and storage usage> Less data usage> Visit and click the box to reduce the amount of data used in the call.

Get Rid of WhatsApp Data Usage

All Android phones in the last five years send data usage with a tracker, which allows you to get a breakdown of app-by-app data usage. But there is also a tracker on WhatsApp, which ranks you by data usage.

To access WhatsApp's data usage log, you'll need to visit Settings> Data & Storage Usage> Network Usage. You will find data usage related to Google Drive, WhatsApp calls, status updates, messages, and overall usage. The biggest disadvantage is that there doesn’t seem to be a cellular breakdown against Wi-Fi - it’s all covered in the same category.

View Storage Breakdown Via Contacts ...

Storage usage efficiency (Settings> Data & Storage Usage> Storage Usage) can show some impressive statistics.

This feature allows you to see the ranking of the storage used by the contact. It is numbered by which contact or group uses the most storage on your phone. Just tap on a contact/group and you'll see messages, photos, GIFs, videos, and more.

Then Clear The Files From Your Cache

There is more you can do than just look at the contacts that are stuck in all the storage. You can choose to wipe these files from your phone if you wish.

You only need to visit the Storage Usage section once (Settings> Data & Storage> Storage Usage). From here, you select a contact or group and tap Spaces. You can then select the categories that need cleaning in that contact/group. So if you have 50MB video clips in your friends' group, don't just tick the video category when skipping everything else. You will then press the Delete Items button and select whether the starred messages are included in the wipe.

Request Your Account Information

WhatsApp allows you to request to download zip file of your account information and settings. It only includes your profile photo and does not include your messages even if you agree to that Facebook data policy, group names, and the like.

To do this, you need to tap Settings> Account> Account Information Request, then Request Report. This report takes two to three days to arrive. However, this request will be canceled if you choose to delete or re-register your account or change your number or device.

Email Chat Logs To Yourself (Or Someone Else)

WhatsApp already lets you back up your chat history on the cloud, but what if you want to send a specific chat log to someone or maybe just need a receipt? You can always email chat logs via WhatsApp.

To do this, you will need to visit Settings> Chats> Chat History, then tap "Export Chat". From here, your chat menu will pop up, allowing you to select a specific contact or group's chat history.

Once you select the chat you want, WhatsApp will send you whether you want to include media or just text and emoji. It is advisable to choose the latter option if you want to keep checking the final file size. Once you have made your decision you will be able to choose how to send the file. If you select email, the chat log (lightweight .txt format) will be automatically attached to the new draft message.

Disable Reading Invoices [The Most Demanding WhatsApp Trick]

The infamous blue tick mark. For the undisputed, it means that a message has been seen. If you prefer to dose your contacts, you can disable read invoices (blue ticks ego) by visiting Settings> Accounts> Privacy and marking the read invoices on the label.

Remember it works both ways, our contacts can't see when you read their messages and you can't see when they read your messages.

Conclusion

These are some amazing Top 10 WhatsApp tricks and tips that you can use for fun and these are useful too.
