Krafton Battleground Mobile India: Pre-Registration Starts on May 18th on Google Play Store
Battlegrounds Mobile India release: Korean game development company Krafton today announced the date for pre-registrations of BATTLEGROUNDS MOBILE INDIA to go live on May 18
South Korean video game developer Krafton today announced the pre-registration date for its much-awaited game: BattleGrounds Mobile India, which is widely seen as a replacement for PUBG Mobile. The original game was banned last September, along with Chinese apps.
Pre-registration for the game will go live on the Google Play Store on May 18. There is no word on when the game will be released but it will happen soon after the pre-registration link goes live. It is not clear when this game will be released on iOS.
In a press statement, the company said that "there are special prizes available for fans to claim, only if they record the game." These awards will be for Indian players only.
To pre-register, users need to go to the Google Play Store and click on the "Pre-Register" button. Prizes will be automatically available for claim when the game is launched. This app will be free to play for all users including in-app purchases as seen in previous PUBG mobiles.
Battleground Mobile India: Age restrictions, spending limits, and more are confirmed
It seems that when considering teen and young audiences, Krafton is trying to address the issues of addiction. In its privacy policy for upcoming games, players under the age of 18 will have new restrictions. They need to register for the game with their parent or guardian's phone number. It is still not clear that how Battlegrounds Mobile India will verify the age and what process will be used.
Further, those who under the age of 18 years can only enter the game for a maximum of three hours per day. Developers are also limiting their spending. Earlier, teens reportedly spent millions of dollars on in-app purchases. In-game purchases will now be limited to Rs 7,000 per day for players under 18 years.
Krafton is also trying to address ‘privacy’ issues, which led to a ban on gaming in India. The company says all personal information will be stored, processed on servers in India and Singapore, although it may transfer data to other countries to meet legal requirements.
Battlefield Mobile India: Sanhok Map
While not much is known about the upcoming game and whether it is different from PUBG Mobile, Krafton posted a new teaser for Sanhok Map on the official Facebook page. This poster shows the location of the Ben Tai map in Sanhok, one of the 4 × 4 maps available in the game. This map was added to PUBG Mobile in September 201. Based on the images shared by official social media channels, it looks like the game will be similar in design and essense to the original PUBG mobile with some tease from India.
